Last Year

(For last year's predictions see Last Year's Talk.)

Set up 300-device, 2-crate, 4-sector test stand at CERN.

Ran test stand with LWDAQ hardware and software for several months without problems.

Released LWDAQ software version 6.

Upgraded LWDAQ to TCP/IP 8.4.12, ported to Intel Macs.

Ported Minuit fitting software to MacOS, integrated with LWDAQ.

Ported ARAMyS reconstruction software to MacOS, integerated with LWDAQ.

Provided PVSS connection to LWDAQ through System Server.

Solved communication bug in patch panel circuits.

Expanded existing BCAM, LWDAQ, and Electronics documentation.

Developed Inclinometer for sector installation.

Big Wheel Installation

The big wheel holds the sixteen EM-layer sectors.

The big wheel sectors are ready for installation.

Big wheel installation takes place in cavern, begins November 2006.

Alignment system will provide quality assurance for sector installation.

Set up temporary LWDAQ system for big wheel during installation.

Requires 16 LWDAQ Drivers with Ethernet Interface.

Small Wheel Installation

The small wheel holds the sixteen EI-layer sectors.

The small wheel sectors will be assembled in Spring 2007.

Small wheel sectors will be installed above ground in Summer 2007.

Alignment system will provide quality assurance for sector installation.

Set up temporary LWDAQ system for small wheel during installation.

Temporary system like that for big wheel.

Small wheel will then be lowered into the cavern.

Disconnect quality assurance DAQ from big wheel.

Run cables from all six wheels to USA15.

Install computers in USA15.

Create local Ethernet in USA15.

Acquire from all four wheels.

Our DAQ runs smoothly and reliably on a system of 300 devices.

Our DAQ will serve as quality assurance during big wheel installation in 2006.

We will produce and install 32 of our new inclinometers in the big wheel sectors.

We expect no major software problems moving to a system of 10,000 devices.

We are ready to deal with major hardware problems during commissioning.

May have to design and build a wall-mounting 1000-slot patch panel to accommodate root cable lengths > 130 m.

Connection and test of small and big wheel alignment system in 2007.
