Connect programming cable to the RabbitLink and the PC as show in picture:
Open HyperTerminal: On Windows XP, Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Communications > HyperTerminal
HyperTerminal Settings:
New Connection Name: RabbitLink
Connect Using: COM1
Bits per second: 57600
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
Flow Control: None
Connect the RabbitLink AC adapter, HyperTerminal should now read: RabbitLink Console Version 2.00 Ready
Type the following commands in HyperTerminal:
To connect to the RabbitLink through the Brandeis network:
set ip 129.64.37.40
set gateway 129.64.37.1
set netmask 225.255.255.0
You are now ready to skip to the Field Utility Setup section
To connect to the RabbitLink directly from a PC
set ip 10.10.10.1
set gateway 10.10.1.1
set netmask 225.255.255.0
You are now ready for the PC Network Settings section
(Skip this step if you are connecting to the RabbitLink through a router.)
Connect the RabbitLink to the PC with a crossover cable
On Windows XP: Start Menu > Control Panel
Switch to Category View (If the right frame says Switch to Classic View you are already in the correct place)
Choose Network Connections
Right click on Local Area Connection and choose Properties
Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties
Record settings on paper so you can restore them later
Set the following addresses:
IP address: 10.10.10.2
Subnet mask: 255.0.0.0
Default gateway: 10.10.1.1
Preferred DNS server: 10.10.1.2
Alternate DNS server: 10.10.1.3
Click OK
Click OK
Choose: Setup > Communications
Choose Use TCP/IP Connection
Click Discover
Highlight the RabbitLink
Click Select
Click OK
